Cannot upload images when "Save Original Files" enabled

As per the subject line, when I enable the "Save Original Files" option, it won't let me upload images unless they are really small (less than 200kb it seems). I get a blank page after submitting the upload.php

If I disable the setting, my images upload without a problem - even 2mb files.

My settings:

Resize Program: GD2
Thumbsize: 150
Thumbnail quality: 100
Save Original Files: Yes
Original Image Quality: 70
Watermark images: No

JPG settings:
Maximum Filesize: 2097152
Max Width: 560
Max Height: 740

This should set a memory limit.

I think that is set by default now in v1.0.2 ... so I already had it there. Doesn't help.

Any other suggestions ?

Looks like the same error I and others are having, I will go turn off the save original files and see if I can upload larger images. Right now I am limited just like you, this is with Version 2.0 gold.

Well in fact it was off, strangely enough as an admin if I upload a photo into a category it still saves the original image anyway. I tried to edit the Administrator profile but there was no selection there to save originals or not, the only place I found that was in the main settings for the gallery and it was already shut off there, but yet I still have this upload problem!
