Thumbnails fail to display my thumbnails fail to display on the main page of my gallery. For some reason it doesn't create the thumbs. the pics are in /files/ but the thumbs arent there. |
Is it creating any thumbnails at all for any files? What image processor are you using, GD or ImageMagick? What are the types of files being uploaded? |
nope, thumbnails arent created for any files (jpeg, gif, etc) I am using GD (version 2) and i've tried several files, jpg, jpeg, gif , bmp |
I have had this happen because of paths. In URLS and PATH of folders in the setup of the gallery, one had a backslash. |
Gallery URL: http://www.mysite.tld/gallery Files path: /var/www/html/gallery/files Files URL: http://www.mysite.tld/gallery/files FTP user folder path: /var/www/html/gallery/users FTP User folder url: http://www.mysite.tld/gallery/users |
still haven't been able to fix this |
I have not ran into this yet. Do you have a custom watermark enabled ? Have you CHMOD 777 the files and users folder ? |
dotslasher, are the files in /files/{userID} or just /files? What are the permissions on your /files folder? At the time of the upload are you seeing any error messages on the screen? |
the files are in /files/{userid} and the permission of the /files folder is 777. And i'm not getting any error messages. and on Zachariah's question: no I do not have a custom watermark enabled. well i tried uploading smaller files (100x100 and under) and they get displayed properly, i don't know if that helps --> thumbsize setting is 100 -> hence the 100x100 and under being properly generated. because i tried raising it to 300 and when i uploaded a 275x200 pic it was displayed properly, but still no file_thumb being generated. also: Going to Maintenance --> Scan Database --> comes up with all the pictures and i can select the fix problems thing but it does not fix it. and no errors are displayed either |
dotslasher, OK, I understand what results you're getting now. Are you positive that GD2 is installed & enabled on your server? The results you're getting are when the "Resize Program" isn't working correctly. Usually when ImageMagick is being used and the results are what you're experiencing then typically the "Resize Program Path" isn't correct but when using GD it's typically that GD isn't enabled on the server. If you choose ACP => vBulletin Options => Image Options and then in the "Image Processing Library" section, do you see the example GD and/or IM images? Also, if you view your PHP Info make sure that you see a "GD" section. |
yes I was thinking that too, so I checked my version through php info and in vBulletin's ACP. It shows: Detected GD Version: 2.0.28 , and the GD image is showing up properly. (imagemagik is not installed) Quote:

I'm having the same problem. I don't remember it being so difficult to use this app before Photophost bought it. ...Very frustrating. |
deb0: When did the problem start exactly? What version of the Gallery are you using? The 1.0.1 release was identical to the previous 1.0.1 version available on vBadvanced with the only change being the various name changes. Version 1.0.2, which was recently released, should have been only confirmed bug changes. dotslasher: You're currently showing as unverified; please follow the steps here. After doing so would you mind sending me a PM so I can take a look at your vBGallery configuration on your site? |
