Save picture as

When I place my curser over the photo in my photo gallery and right click it and pick the option "Savae Picture As..." it defaults to a bmp file and only allows me to save it as a bmp file. But the actual photo is a jpg. What going on with this? I have been on other gallerys using the same software and it allows me the option to save it as either a jpg or bmp. Is there something I am missing on my site here that I may have done wrong?

I found out waht was causing this. It is because I am saving watermarks to the image on the screen without making it permanent to the file.

I have seen that same thing happen on a many music sites.

Anytime you wanted to save "box art" (CD,LP cover) every "save as" it was a bmp and they were small jpg's in the source. You could even direct link via URL to the jpg file.

Usually the 'bmp' problem means you're running Microsoft Internet Explorer cache is full. Just empty your cache and try again.

That was not the case becsuase I went to a different web site using the same gallery software and I was able to save a photo as a jpg file.

It has something to do with watermarking. I am not making my watermarks permanent. They only show up when viewing the image online. So I think it has something to do with the watermark overlaying the image. But that is a little confusing too because the watermark is a png file. I turned off the watermarking and then I was able to save the file as a jpg. So I know it has something to do with the overlaying watermark.
