Upload From Sever Issue

I'm having a strange issue. I have been testing the "Upload from server" function. I will upload about 10 pics via FTP to my server. I go to upload them with the option to do 5 at a time and everything goes fine. I get to the Process screen where you can enter the description, keywords, etc. I click on Process and it goes to a "Error 500 The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request."

The strange thing is the pictures get uploaded fine and show up in my gallery perfectly. The Gallery isn't live yet so I don't know if it would happen to everyone.
Any ideas why?

Thanks

Exacto,

Sounds like a server timeout issue. If you do a 'view PHP info' what are your memory settings currently at?

Memory_limit is 40m. post_max_size is 8m and upload_max_size is 20m
The max I've been trying is about 2m

Doing some fishing - Error 500 is very general.

- Is it a file type that errors ? (if so what type)

- Are the image problems @ random or on high dimensions size? (if so what size)

- Do you have the same problems with the same image if you upload 1 at a time vs. use the Bulk option ?

It's on any image. I don't have the issue if I do less than 5, but there isn't an option to lower it below 5. I received your last post about adding the code to upload.php in my email but it didn't show up here. I haven't tried it yet.

Exacto,

I was going with the memory issue because when I was on a shared server I had the same issue; for me 3 was the magic number. To change the values in the drop-down list modify your "adv_gallery_upload" template and about 2/3 of the way down you'll find "<select name="server[process_number]">" and beneath are the values that are displayed.

On my dedicated server some of the settings I have are:
Max Execution Time: 60
Post Max Size: 55m
Upload Max Filesize: 30m
