User Images Missing Hello All, I went onto the system this morning and wanted to comment on a users image only to find out that his image was missing at this point. I then checked for other images from this user and all the images have gone into La La Land for some reson. Even a few of mine! I checked the server and went into the directories that I know that we both had posted images, and they are gone from the system as well on the server directory. I know that he has not removed the images at all, so what should be my next move to try to correct this problem? Nothing was changed at all, so this is a very strange problem. I new to this, and need your help in trying to correct this problem. Thanks in advance for any help with this issue. Dennis |
I took a look around your site and the gallery looked ok. - Do you have a link to your problem? |

Thanks for checking out the site, but there is no links to the problem, just that the images went south on me. It turns out that the one user that I have none of his images are on the system at all, and a few my own are missing. I find this very strange that the images went missing on the system, and in the case of that one user all of his. Now I'm trying figure out how to prevent this in the future. I wished I could give you more to go on, but I cannot. Dennis |
Dennis, There is nothing in Gallery at all that would purge an image by itself. Unfortunately I can't even begin to point you in a direction to start with but unless you have some type of custom cron job running nothing in Gallery would be removing a file like that. |
- VB Logs Look in your AdminCP logs of vBulletin for AdminCP/ModCP access to make sure there wasen't a member w/ access that removed the data. - Cpanel / Vdeck Download log files. This way we can get a time frame when those files were last "viewed" ect .. Once you know the last "time/date" the files were on the server. - help to look @ cron job running @ the same time ect .. |

It turns out the user removed all his images from the system here. He got ticked off that some stole his image and posted that image on another system, and then pulled all the files from mine. I checked the log files and then sent him and e-mail and he confirmed this with me. Now I need to prevent the users from Right-Click and will have to search for such a thing. Not sure where the file if I can find it will go, but it's worth trying to prevent some users from stealing others images. I have taken the right away for users to delete there images from now on, this way I don't have to go crazy with trying to sort all this out. I'm even looking at Water Marking the images as well. Thanks again for your help and guidance on this problem. Dennis |
