New Images Won't Show Unless Commented On

I've had this problem for a while now but when someone uploads a new image it shows on "newest images" but doesn't show up in the category unless someone posts a comment.

I'm using 1.0.1 for vB 3.5.

First I've seen a problem described like that; are you sure it's not a moderation thing?

I looked under "validate new images" and there are no images listed there.
