Can't upload images just installed the gallery last night and i get the message "An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster" When trying to upload an image to the gallery I have searched other threads similar to this and have tripple checked paths, chmod'd all directories to 777, tried safemode bypass both on and off (when set to off i get a different error message) "No Image specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" unsure what else i can do, please help :) also late last night while fidling with it i also tried ftp'ing images to the user directory and uploading them that way using the bulk upload option.. this resulted in the names of the files comming up in the gallery but the files werent transfered to the files directory and no images were displayed in the gallery, only their filenames |
Re: Can't upload images Have the same problem here! Can't upload images, instead the page just goes blank and freezes on upload.php. Please help!!! |
Re: Can't upload images ive got the same problem as flipside too Get this message when trying to upload images :( An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster Anyone got any ideas ???? Any help would be much apppreciated |
Re: Can't upload images There's any reason you should get that message if your 'Files Path' option is set correctly and the folder is chmod to 777. |
Well the only time when a folder has to be created is when you upload. I your case the system cannot create a folder. this meens that very probably some safemode restrictions are set on your server. try to change the storage method in your settings / maintainance... then upload a new image Luc |

Flipside, go into your ACP => vBa Gallery => Modify Settings and then verify that your various file paths (Gallery URL, Files Path, Files URL) are all correct. After that go into your /gallery/files folder and verify that not only is /gallery/files chmod'ed to 777 but also any folders that may happen to be inside of /gallery/files already. |
I am having the same problem...getting a blank screen. You say to chmod all the folders inside /gallery/ ?? so in that case I want to chmode these folders below to 777 too?? /gallery/files /gallery/images /gallery/users |
the files and users directories for sure and everything below them. ie files/2 files/3 etc etc |
thanks for the info in this thread you saved my computer from being tossed into the ocean |
