Cant get Watermark to work...

any get the watermark to work?

no matter what combination of thing I turn on or off, no matter how many times I choose to "watermark files" from the gallery admincp> maintenance tools..... nothing seems to happen. It doesn't give any error. But it also doesnt' seem to actually watermark the pics.

is there a way to test this or confirm something or other?

I've tried from two different approaches:

1. via modify settings:
gallery admincp>> modify settings>>Watermark Images (full path-not url)

--I've upload a small gif file for my watermark with full path (is there a specific type of image and size needed to be used as a watermark? mine is jsut a small gif image).
--Permanently Watermark Images >> YES.
--Watermark Location >> North East
--then upload an image for a test...

result: nothing that I can tell. ie: no watermark.

2. via admincp >> maintenance >>Watermark Files >> choose a category (done) >> click "watermark files"

result: nothing. ie: no watermark.

---------

Am I doing something wrong?

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you're using GD as your image resizing program or you have the 'Permanently Watermark Images' option set to 'No', then you will not be able to use a gif as your watermark image. If you need to use something that's transparent you should be able to convert the gif to a png.

I still can't get my watermark to work... maybe this has something to because I'm on windows and IIS?

Watermark path I'm using is:
D:\xxx.XXXX.xxx\wwwroot\forum\images_pb\shark\watermark\watermark.png

Change the \ marks in your path to /.

Re: Cant get Watermark to work...

No succes with D:/www.XXXX.xx/wwwroot/forum/images_pb/shark/watermark/watermark.png

When I go http://www.XXXX.xx/forum/images_pb/s.../watermark.png I can see the picture.

It should also show the watermarkt on already uploaded pictures??? Or only when I upload a new one. I don't have permanent watermark set to on.

A little kick.. Does someone have a solution?

KW802 November 22nd, 2005 10:12 AM

Jorg, how big is your watermark... the file size may be an issue.

jorg November 22nd, 2005 03:06 PM

My watermark is 100x33 pixels and is 3,2 kb. Not that big... Really strange..

I am having this issue as well and didn't notice till now. It worked when I used PP. It is a PNG.

Watermarking is working for me, but not if I display the original file in a separate window. If I display the original without going to a pop up, it works fine. I would like to know if it is possible to add the watermark to the pop up version as well. It seems to be using the same script to display the image.

Anyone? Is there a fix in the works?

Zachariah March 15th, 2007 07:05 AM

I'll have to take a look about watermarking original images.
