| Validation of Images and Posts
OK everything seems to be running smooth till this point. Where a friend uploaded an image and he does not see it. Validation was required in order to see the image.
He posted a reply to one of my images, and he does not see the reply as well, had to validate the post as well.
I made up a dummy account and I could not see the image and or his posts.
The question is:
Is there a way that images and posts can be done without me having to do the validation all the time?
Gallery 1.0.1 (vb3.5) is what I'm using.

Dennis,
The options to validate images are done at the usergroup level. For example, on my personal sites I have validation turned off for staff members and then for the regular guests I have them automatically bumped into a 'regulars' usergroup, after they make an X amount posts, that is not subject to validation (that way a new member can't do a 'hit-and-run' with some material that I wouldn't want to be on the site).
To change your permissions go into your Gallery Control Panel and then choose Usergroup Permissions => {select the group} => Moderate This Group's Images and/or Moderate This Group's Posts.

That seems very easy enough to do and now off to make the changes to that function.
Thanks again for the help, getting better at this even though I have it a a couple of days.

I'm having this same problem wih Categories that we created, however if a reply is posted under the member's categories no problems you see the replied right of way, but under the other categories we have to validate each post.
I have already check all the permissions and everything seems set correctly. Help www.thestanggang.com |

In vb admin vbgallery options go to category permissions and edit the usergroup permissions
Moderate this group's images
Moderate this group's posts
SET THESE BOTH TO NO for the groups you dont want moderation

Did you upload all the new files also?
Those are the settings you want to see. Is under cat perms you check the categories you are having trouble with and set accordingly
In usergroup permissions you can set the default permissions for each usergroup and set moderation as well this should change it for any cat permission that uses the default perms of the groups
