Just installed and have a smiley path problem

Hi there,

I've just installed VBA gallery ... That installation went fine but it's affected the images on the 'vbportal' addon that I am using.

go to www.ukhippy.com and look at the announcement ... You will see a red x where a smiley should be. The path to the image has been totally thrown off and is now the following:

http://www.ukhippy.com/forums/http:/...lies/smile.gif

Any suggestions of what I need to change to fix this?

My site hierarchy is

/
/forums
/gallery

OK, done a quick fix by reverting the path to just images/smileys and duplicating the folder under gallery/images/smileys

Is there a better way to do this?

You should set the smilie path to the FULL path to the images and they will work from anywhere on the site. No reason to duplicate everything.

The Gallery install should do it for you. Re-run the installation and choose the option to update your image paths.

It was setting the images to their full path that caused the problem in vbportal.

It was returning this as a path:

Re: Just installed and have a smiley path problem

Sorry, I missed the fact that you were using vBportal. I would assume they add the forum URL in front of the image tags, but I've never really looked at the script so I don't know for sure. I would suggest asking at their site to see if there is an option to change this.
