Resizing images Hi there, I'm really confused here, I want images on my gallery to be a maximum of 1024x768 and 200Kb, and I want them resized on upload, I don't want my users to have to upload them in photoshop etc. What should my settings be, because at the moment if the picture you try to upload is bigger than the specified settings it just says 'picture is too big' etc. It doesn't seem to do any sort of intermediate sizing, with GD2 or Imagemagick. Cheers, Ben. |
Re: Resizing images Your settings for each file type should be 1024x768 then. If it's giving you a message saying that the files are too big then you do not have GD/ImageMagick working properly, or you are trying to upload an image that cannot be resized by GD/IM. |
Re: Resizing images I'm assuming animated GIF files cannot be resized by GD2? I uploaded an animated gif and it can't display a thumbnail of said gif. |
Re: Resizing images IIRC, no. |
Re: Resizing images Hrm. And there's no way to tell Gallery not to resize this type of image only? Edit: I found out that my version of GD2 is slightly outdated. GIF support was added back in 2.0.28 of GD library, so if you have a later version than that, it should be able to do GIF images. |
