Unhappy Installed but no gallery!

ok ok.

I bought a license and finished the install...
everything SEEMED in order BUUUUUUTTTT....

the Gallery CP shows up in the AdminCP, but I can't find the actual GALLERY!!

when I went to the url directly:

Quote:
http ://mysitename.com/forums/gallery/
I get this error message:

Quote:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home1/mysitepath/forums/gallery/gallery_config.php on line 21

er.... what now?

please help...really want to get this working.

I made a info.php file and the path is correct (obviously I changed the name of a folder for this example)

i'm running:

Vbulletin: 3.5 RC 1
gallery: 1.0.1 (v3.5)

Re: Installed but no gallery!

Looks like you made a mistake when you edited your gallery_config.php.

Re: Installed but no gallery!

Paste that line from your gallery_config.php. Also, what editor did you use to make the change?

LOL! as it turned out...you were right!! I had a typo in my config!! thanks!!

works now when I type the url in directly.

but.. er... I still don't know how to get to the gallery from my forum index.
I thought there would be navbar link? no? (there is none) right now, the only way to get to the gallery is directly typing in the url.

How do I get new images and a link to it to appear on the forum index page?

thank you again for any help you can provide.

Re: Installed but no gallery!

You can add a link to the Gallery anywhere you like. Most people do add it to the navbar. (This has to be done manually.)

Something like this: http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/show...76&postcount=7

ic ic. didn't know we had to do it manually.
well...at least it wasn't me being stooopid on the install again.

thanks again!

ps. they should really mention that in the install instructions or offer a suggestion of how/where, imo. n00bs like me just follow stuff step-by-step and adjust later.
