Re: install problem: timeout

There shouldn't be too many reasons that could happen on the first step... How many styles do you have on your forum?

default style only.

I just installed the default install of vB 3.5 on my laptop running WAMP server.
then tried the vba gallery install

default install of WAMP is:
PHP 5.0.4
- Apache 1.3.33
- MySQL 4.1.10a
- PHPmyadmin 2.6.1-pl3
- SQLitemanager 1.0.4

I am not completely sure what is going on, however, my understanding is that MySQL 4.1.x has a collation bug in it that affect vbulletin...It was resolved from what I hear in 4.1.11.

Just thought I would bring that up.

Actually I just go an e mail, looks like 3.5 is not affected by that collation bug...

Sorry

Re: install problem: timeout

yea me too. Now I'm just lost.. guess I'll just try it on my webserver instead. It has an extra 2Ghz and RAID array advantage over my 1Ghz laptop.

Re: install problem: timeout

I'm getting this error too; (Well, same error; different filename/line #'s)

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\forums\includes\db_mysql.php on line 212

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\forums\includes\functions.php on line 490

vbulletin 3.07
vbadvanced CMPS v2.0 RC2
mySQL 4.1.13
IIS on Win2k Advanced Server
(all this in a home lab environ)

Just setting this all up so no messages in the db, just playing with it and no other services/apps running on the server. (OK, caught me. Its a Celeron 500mhz, 10gb ide drive...STOP LAUGHING! vBulletin/CMPS ARE working!)

Anyway, uninstall seemed to do something so I tried that a few times; still timesout, though.
Any Ideas? (uh, besides the HW upgrade. Just hoping to get this working for a secure place for family members to stay in touch and share photos. Not looking for thousands of members.)
