Issue with Nav Menu Installed vbGallery for vBulletin 4.2. Everything went off without a hitch, with one exception. The Gallery nav button was not created. No biggie. I created one and selected PhotoPost vbGallery as the Product Type. Clicking the button will take you to the new gallery; however, the nav menu highlights the Forum button. How do I get the nav menu to work right? My forum is located at everythingaquatic.net/forum/forum.php Thanks for your help. |
In your vbulletin product manager hit add product. click the overwrite button and then hit browse and reupload via that prompt the product_vbgallery42.xml file. That should correct your issue. |
Thank you! |
No problem glad to help |
Well, after all that I decided I wanted the full PhotoPost app as I am interested in running photo contests. So, I deleted vbGallery, downloaded the PhotoPost 8.23 package and installed it. After I created the xml file and imported it into vBulletin 4.2 I am now getting the following errors: Quote:
Please help. |
http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery I run our product with vb4 there are no issues to my knowledge with the plugin and our product has nothing to do with vBlog I would suggest you read and follow the instructions in the documentations folder on install for the vb4 plugins. Make sure permissions etc are all correct so the xml will be generated with the proper information. |

Where are the instructions to edit this file? I have also verified the Forum Options on the PP ACP. I type vb4 as the User Registration System. Click save. And it reverts back to vb3. I suspect the missing instructions in the header-inc.php file is the culprit; but can't say for sure. |
That is not what I am referring to look at the bottom FOR VBULLETIN 4 ONLY. The stuff your talking about is the last step of install where you set paths and turn on the vbulletin header you already did that. You need to properly install plugins. I would assume if your getting errors on plugins you did not install them correctly which is why I am referring you to the install documentations to read the plugin instructions. PhotoPost PHP Photo Sharing Photo Gallery Installation Guide Feel free to post a url to your gallery install if you want us to make comments based in fact. ;) |
I did those steps! I tried to post a URL but this forum will not allow me to. Let's see if this works.... everythingaquatic.net/photopost (Currently the install folder is renamed to install2 as I need it to rebuild the xml files) |
everythingaquatic.net/photopost everything is installed correct from the gallery standpoint but your plugin is not installed or active. If your plugin is installed make the variables under the photopost globals plugin are correct. Hard for me to comment without seeing admin area and the plugins. ;) |
Let me activate it. That's when the errors happen. There you go..... Thanks for looking at it. |
Our application has nothing to do with the blog Like I said 2 things. 1, make sure in the plugin for photopost pro make sure all the global variables are correct under the global variables plugin. This is why permissions need to be right. 2. Make sure all things under your gallery admin edit integration are answered correctly even the table prefix of the gallery. |
Ah, I get it now. I left everything as default in PhotoPost when I did the reinstall. Now, to figure out where those darned header/footer files are with the templates stored in the database. |
Like I said if you have everything is installed correctly based on the install instructions your site should look like the site I linked. |
I am trying! I cannot find the header or footer files. And searching vBulletin only tells me those files are in the database. Since you have an install on vb4.2, care to point me in the right direction? vBulletin tells me I need to ask here for help with PhotoPost; and you are going to tell me to ask vBulletin for help with their files. I am stuck! |
I really have no idea what your talking about. why are you searching for header and footer files? To install our product you simply follow the install instructions either on the site here or under the documentations folder of the downloaded code. Basically all you do is run the install script and answer everything correctly and then follow the instructions about installing the xml plugin. There is nothing in our documentation that has you looking for header or footer files the install is automatic and the only extra step is if your using vb4 you need to generate the product xml file per the instructions and install that info vbulletin product manager. You can send us an admin login if you want us to see what your issue might be but not quite sure as I posted what you misunderstand here. |
1 Attachment(s) Frustrating doesn't even begin to describe how I feel after trying to find the correct settings for each item in global options. |
Those have nothing to do with your install that is for installs where your not using the vb header footer. for non vb installs that is where you enter a server path to header or footer files you want to load as a header or footer for the gallery. I beleive that is exactly what those settings say there. ;) remember your site already has a header and footer it uses your vb header and footer. Message - Everything Aquatic Photo Gallery Your vb header footer show fine around your photopost The only issue you have is what I have repeatedly have said and involve your xml plugin I stated you can send us an admin login to check out your plugin through our contact us link. |
Thank you for all your help and patience. I just cannot figure out what is going on so will submit the admin info for you to check it out. |
Not a problem |
