display issue, what template??

Hello.
I hope all is well.
i have posted this question here as my support ticket seems to be taking longer than i would like probably me just being impatient

I am real stuck however as i cant seem to fix something and i am not sure where to find the correct template for it..

http://www.feathered-friends.co.uk/v...atid=newimages

you will notice the 2 red bars left and right , they end before they should and also images at the bottom right do not show..

Other pages in the gallery show all images just fine making me think its either a template or a problem with showimage.php

i can only assume this is something missing in a template but i cant find which one it is.

please advise.
Kind regards
Carl

Re: display issue, what template??

I am a little closer now.

In this template - ADV_GALLERY_SHOWIMAGE

i find if i delete these lines then the display works fine other than of course the missing parts...

$spacer_close
<div id="posts">$postbit</div>
$spacer_open

I dont know what i am doing here but it looks to me like its something to do with these 3 templates doing something wrong.

this does not happen on the forum itself however so i am at a loss..

please advise.
Kind regards
Carl

Re: display issue, what template??

There aren't any problems with that page on a default vB style, so it's probably something to do with the way your style is coded. You can always remove/modify the code in that template though if you're having a problem.

Re: display issue, what template??

many thanks..
html via dreamweaver is fine for me , coding is not within my grasp as yet
so i remain stuck..

this crossed my mind though..

Vbulletin is also new to me by the way so i need a basic guide

i thought i could at least create a seperate footer that would half way sort the graphical problem at the bottom of the page, i.e. create one single image centered so that it gave the impression of being whole , i would still lose the red bars over a part of the page..

but i wasnt sure of the steps to create a new template called footer2 and have the ADV_GALLERY_SHOWIMAGE call $footer2 rather than $footer

whats the likelyhood of getting someone to look at this..

I did opt for the paid install because of the different type of display , i did feel a little let down as i expected this type of thing to be looked at.

although i thank support for installing which went well they did however leave me to sort out path issues for other images and havnt answered ticket questions as yet.

many thanks for your help.

Kind Regards
Carl

Re: display issue, what template??

Our installation service only covers installing the product and making sure it works as intended. It wouldn't really be plausable though to check every page and make sure that it works with every style after we finish an installation.
I've just checked the link you gave though and I'm not seeing any problems on that page - Looks exactly the same as it does on your forum home. Were you able to figure out the problem? If not, what browser are you using? Also, check to see if you still see the problem when viewing the page as a guest.

Re: display issue, what template??

Hello.

I am using the latest IE6

many thanks.. sure , i dont intend to grumble , the gallery does work fine.. I apreceate the install cant check over everything.

the page link above : http://www.feathered-friends.co.uk/v...atid=newimages

is different from the usual display , 2 things....

1:the red bars either side stop half way down the page ( just above the quick reply option)

2:the very bottom images are not right , because of the missing bars the bottom images have shifted to the left so look bad.

I have got around this by removing the options to post replies on the gallery , its the reply post that causes this problem..

i cant code so i am stuck

$spacer_close
<div id="posts">$postbit</div>
$spacer_open

when the above code is removed then all is fine but then theres no reply visible.

It looks to me like its something to do with these 2 files :
$spacer_close
$spacer_open
but i dont know enough to assess this, however its fine on the forum.

your thoughts please.
Kind regards
Carl

Re: display issue, what template??

Many thanks Brian.
Its great you have taken the time to look.
Its also great that it looks fine for you as it may well just be me
In not using the option to reply it solves my issue as no postbit appears thus not causing the issue.

it may or may not be of use to anyone but heres a low res screenshot of what i see , i have ringed the areas that are different to any other page on the forum using the postbit and spacer_open/spacer_closed..
all looks fine up to and including the $postbit but something happens after to cause the missing images.

your thoughts should you have time....

I could live with the missing red bars , the images at the bottom being off center anoy me though

Again many thanks
Kind regards
