Changing Servers

Not sure if this goes here or not, but here it goes.

We changed servers with our hosts, going from a regular hosting package to a VPS. Our host moved our site over to the new server and we set everything up.

The gallery seemed fine, until our users tried uploading new pictures. Now when that action takes place, the screen just goes white and nothing happens.

Anyone have any idea what to do?

Re: Changing Servers

Admin CP => vBa Gallery => Modify Settings => Title, URL's, & Paths

Make sure that your path options there are set correctly. Also, make sure that your server is not running with safe mode enabled. If it is, ask your host to turn that off.

Re: Changing Servers

I'm not sure how to check the "files" parts to see if they are right, but when I go to "http://www.deadendsociety.net/gallery/files" the page goes white, though when I check via FTP I see that the files are indeed there. Just so everyone knows, when uploading files, it ends up white on "http://deadendsociety.net/gallery/upload.php".

I'll have my webmaster check and see if we are running in safe mode, cause I can't seem to find that.

Re: Changing Servers

Admin CP => Import & Maintenance => View PHP info

Go there, hit ctrl+F to search the page, search for 'safe_mode', and you should be brought to a table that shows the local and master values for that setting.
Also, while you're on that page, scroll down to the section about GD and make sure that your server has this enabled if that's what you are using for your resize program.

Re: Changing Servers

Thanks, we are not running in safe mode, so there goes that one. This is the last bug we have to fix after the server move.

I have my host looking into the situation as well, and they told me...

My webmaster then said....

I want this fixed, so just keeping the communication open.

Our host fixed it, it indeed was the G2 support, so log that for people who move to a VPS
