Video Names Change During Upload

This is odd, however, recently I have noticed that the names of the videos I am uploading are getting changed??

For example, lets say I have a video we will call it abc.wmv I upload it and it changes to abc_344223.wmv

What is that all about...never seemed to do that before.

When you're uploading a file that has the same name as a file in your database, a random number is added to the end of the filename to prevent conflicts.

I did not think the uploads were being stored in the database?

They're not. The filenames are.

Delete the other abc.wmv, and when you upload a new abc.wmv, it should stay that name.

Ya I did that, still changes the name? I assume it is because the name is still in the database, just not in the directory?

Did you delete it through the Gallery, or just go to the directory and delete it?
