Problem uploading movie files

Whenever uploading movie files (.mpg, .wmv, etc) the upload appears to be progressing, then hangs indefinitely at the end of the upload progress indicator, with no error message or anything. I've modified file types to allow for adequate image size, and after seeing other posts here about PHP file upload limits, I inquired with my hosting provider and they had me modify the setting through my .htaccess file. But this hasn't made any difference.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Does it work with movie files under 2mb? If it's working with those and not with larger ones then the .htaccess file isn't affecting the limit.
You may want to keep in mind as well that you can always upload larger files like that through the FTP upload options.

Yes it works with movie files under 2mb so that must be it. phpinfo() shows the upload_max_filesize increased to 100mb in the local value. I've also increased all the other settings like post_max_size, max_input time, etc. Still no resolution. I guess I'll have to inquire again with my web host. I am able to ftp the files so I have been doing that as a temporary workaround, but I would like to have it function properly for users.

Thanks for the input.
