fatal, there could be a number of things at work here. How many images are you trying to upload? How big are they? What is your server's timeout set to? What is your server's memory allocation per process set to?
Have you tried uploading just a few small images first to see if they work?

i tried 3 pictures
what is going on, is it a permissions issue on the users folder, i have mine set to 777 on that one and the 187 for the users ID

odd. I have been able to ftp to my server 50+ images at once and then import them into my gallery no problem..
I would be interested in knowing what might have caused this as well.

The problem can be somewhat difficult to diagnose. If you'd like to submit a support ticket though I'll be glad to take a look and see what the problem is.

I'm interested in the fix for this as I'm suffering a similar problem. (Brian's been investigating my support ticket)
Although I get upload.php page timouts.
I've found that the only way to get the images uploaded is to reduce them in size. I'm sure it's a server timeout issue, but have no idea where to find out what it's set at and if I can change it.
Good Luck

If it's only happening with larger images (dimensions, not filesize) then that would be because your host does not have enough memory allocated to PHP. You would need to ask your host to either up the memory limit, or install ImageMagick instead as it does not require as much memory as GD.

IIRC, you need to edit your php.ini file and change the 'memory_limit' setting.
