| E-Cards Not Sending
Geeeez, its a good thing i decided to test this to see if it actually worked, and NOT to my surprise it did'nt.
I went to send an e-card, i filled out the info and used a members username as the address.
Long story short the user never recived the e-card, this of coarse is not a permissions issue, its simply not working.
Anyone got any ideas?

If e-mail works for vBulletin, then the e-mail should work for the e-cards. Did you try sending one from the Gallery here on vbadvanced.com?

no i did not, i was hoping that somone might have had this problem and that is was somethign small i could probably fix either via the adminCP or by changing a few lines of code.
If this is not a bug anyone else has had i will have to submit a ticket.

hades,
The big question is what Conq' mentioned: Do your emails from vBulletin (eg: new user welcome, etc) work currently? |

I have the same problem, I think, notice he says: "used a members username".
So, I can send and e-card if I put a destination name and email address, it goes through. But, isn't it supposed to send a PM if I use the other blank and put in a username? Or, have I got that wrong.

It sends an email, not a PM.

Thanks for the reply. I see, yes, my alternate account can send my main account an e-card, once I enable email from my profile.
So, if a person doesn't allow emails from their profile, nothing is sent? Hmm. Is there some ready recipe I can use to for it to give some feedback to that effect:
= Sorry, that user's profile doesn't allow email to be sent. Please enter a name and email address instead.
Am I missing some setting for this notice or to turn off the option to use username here?

That setting should not affect e-cards.

OK, I have something fubared then. I can send email throught the usercp for those that have it enabled, but entering the sn into the ecard field for same does NOT send an ecard (entering name/email works tho).
Anything I should try before filing a support ticket?

Anything I should try before filing a support ticket? | Please clarify... initially you mentioned that you were using a username but above it sounds like you're using their user ID number instead. Using their vB user name should work, using their vB user ID won't.
