categories not in index view

ok this is what i have:

-Cat Title
--category a (no uploads)
----cat 1a(uploads)
----cat 2a(uploads)
--category b (no uploads)
----cat 1b(uploads
----cat 2b(uploads

ok now. categroy a,b... this is what organizes the categories with these specific galleries.

now, the settings are like this:
Cat Title, category a, category b have these settings-
act as category = no
act as members category = no

1a, 2a, 1b, 2b have the usual uploading permissions.

now what i want to do is have category a and b NOT show on the gallery index, only the title of Cat Title, then you have to go inside Cat Title to see the rest of the forums, in its organized position.

when i have the settings like you see above for category a, category b, they are showing themselves as regular categories on the index page, not like they should be, under the Cat Title

How do i make it show up like i explained...

i might need to take a screenshot to show you what i mean if yall dont understand what im getting at here.

Re: categories not in index view

So basically you only want your 'Cat Title' category to be shown on the index page? If so, you should be able to change the 'Depth of Categories on Index' option to 1 and that should give you the desired result.

Re: categories not in index view

If none of those categories have a parent then they are all going to be displayed. So if you only want one displayed then you need to create a new category and then select that category as the parent for those three.

Re: categories not in index view

Nude Pics and Hardcore are set to XXX parent.

I just want XXX to show, then when XXX is clicked, it goes to the Nude Pics and Hardcore categories, then it shows the Sub-Cat's on that page, like it already does:
