Mass upload from server

Trying to upload using the upload from server option-

I:
-select the Upload from server option from the upload screen within the category.
-set the # of files to process at a time to 5 (10 is to much for my provider with the 1mb file sizes I am processing)
-press the submit button.
*After some time, the upload/process page appears with a list of images to process (also any previously processed images names are appearing in a list of errors---invalid file type)
-leaving the images checked I press the process button and they are uploaded to the server but I am directed to a blank page.

Questions are:
1-Am I supposed to be receiving an error for previously loaded files being shown in the upload/process page?
2-Am I supposed to be directed to a blank page after the files have been uploaded?

Do normal file uploads work? Is your server running in safe mode, and if so, have you used the maintenance tool to switch the gallery to work with safe mode?

I do know that for filenames that match, it will add a random number to the end and upload them normally. It has no way of knowing if they are the same exact image, or just ones named the same.

I don't get a blank screen afterwards though, so I don't know about that one.
