Watermark / hotlinking

I cant seem to get the watermark to work. I have used gif and png but neither seem to work. What else do I need and if i do need something else, where can i get it?
Also, is there any way to stop people hotlinking to images on the website?

What do you have set for your watermark options (Watermark Images & Permanently Watermark Images)?

You can stop people from hotlinking by turning on the 'Use .htaccess protection' option.

Thanks - sorted the hotlinking bit.

In the watermark section I have used:
######/public_html/copyright.png as the image location and permanently watermark images turned on.

I'm not entirely sure what the probelm would be... Would you mind submitting a support ticket via the Members' Area here so I can have a look?

ill have a play around and submit a ticket if i cant work out what is wrong. Also the hotlinking doesn't seem to work! i tried hotlinking to an image from another forum and it worked fine - even though I have the option ticked and the htaccess file is in the directory!

What's the URL where you posted it? You may have had the image in your cache, so you would still see it.

Oh, as a side note, if you use On-the-fly watermarking, linking directly to a .JPG file won't show the watermark.

cheers - it must be saved in my cache memory then. Thanks for the reply. I have noticed that pictures i have added tonight do have the watermark!
