Category is Open for Images

I assume when i say no to Category is Open for Images and no to Category is Open for Posts in the admincp for a selected catagory, shouldn't the images in catagory block and display options block disappear?

Those options prevent new images/posts from being made in the category, but you can still have old images/posts in that category.

how can we replace those blocks with random images from the sub-categories if we've selected no and there are no already existing images?
