Issues and Guidance

Well here goes. I am having all sorts of strange problems. I suppose I didn't completely understand the install file.

I just upgraded to the latest version 10.0.0 13846

During the install process none of my images show correctly in the update images module. They are all red x.

I have vbulletin installed at:

[root]/forum

gallery at:

[root]/gallery

in the gallery_config.php i have set the forum path to:

$forumpath = '/var/www/html/forum/';

This is the correct path on the server for the forum.

The icons seem to work, but show up as red x's in the vbagallery_install.php image path module.

I ended up using

../forum/[image path]

to get them to show...

Thumbnails don't appear to be working on an upload?

I don't have a link to the gallery on the forum nav bar.

All I want is a clickable link on the bar. Don't need a drop down yet.

The gallery doesn't allow you to see the member list. The forum path is not properly appended. i.e.

instead of

www.mysite.com/forum/ whatever

I still have

www.mysite.com/gallery/

So you are almost trapped in the gallery no way to nav back to the forum.

Any help would be great. I was able to upload a picture and the full sized image displays....

I would like to have everything squared away before I put in a support request for the menalto gallery -> vbadvanced gallery importer.

Thanks,
Geoffrey

Re: Issues and Guidance

I figured it all out.

Had to append some file names into the header section in the admincp

Also don't have a version of php with bundled gif write support.

Is there a way to use netpbm binares to do the gif work?

Thanks,
Geoffrey

I still don't know why i dont have a navbar link in the actual forum. Is this manually added and not part of the vbadvanced gallery install?

It's up to you to add the link to the gallery since different sites will want to add the link in different places.

Re: Issues and Guidance

That is fine. There is a nice post from another thread that offers the code. You might consider putting this into the installation read me as I found it confusing. This might cut down on some of the redundant questions your receive on your support forum.

Thanks,
Geoffrey

How did u do that? The links in the navbar are also not right for me too.

I see the gallery admin demo here has "Header Replacements, Navbar Replacements, Footer Replacements" options under modify settings but this doesn't seem to be in the latest version....

Re: Issues and Guidance

Looks like those somehow got left off in 1.0.0. I've just updated the install file in the package so that others won't have the same problem and if you'd like to submit a support ticket I'll be sure to get you straightned out.

Brian,

Is there anyway you would be able to send out notifications to your customers when you update the zip file package?

Thanks,

Regs.
