Save Original Files set to 'No'

But I think its still saving them :P

My gallery says: Total Disk Space: 230.27 MB
My cPanel says: public_html/images/img 289.17 Meg

And this part bothers me: public_html/images/img_bak 348.68 Meg

The problem here is that those 3 figures are different. And I think its backing up the images. Why cPanel is reporting a different number from the gallery? Can it be because the gallery does not count thumbnails as part of the disk space?

I don't think gallery has anything in it to create the img_bak folder... Nothing I've seen anyway.

If it was saving the original files then the space used would probably be much larger. The difference in sizes is most likely coming from the thumbnails, which are not counted in the gallery stats.

But, what about the directory?

My image directory is /img, and this one appeared out of nowhere and its nearly 350mb+

Gallery will only use one folder that you specify in the ACP. It does not create a "img_bak" folder.

Weird, what could have created this? I am 100% sure it was NOT me, and no one else has access to the control panel.

Anyway, I checked the directory, and it contains the copy of all images and thumbnails. I dont want to delete it without knowing the consequences. But I do want to delete because its 350mb!

Hmm.

What are the dates on the files versus the dates of the files in your vBa Gallery folder? Any chance you copied your images prior to installing an upgraded version of vBa Gallery or perhaps you imported the images from another program and made a backup copy first?

Re: Save Original Files set to 'No'

I imported all my images from Coppermine 1.3.1

I've checked the dir again, and there are folders in there for each user gallery, so I am now even more sure that I did not make this :P There are about 100 folders in there.

The dates match the dates on the other dir, so I am not sure whats going on.

I have no clue where that directory could have came from, but it's nothing for the gallery.

Re: Save Original Files set to 'No'

Well, I downloaded the whole folder and proceeded to delete it from the server. Then I uploaded an image and everything is working fine.

So I have no idea what happened, but its working :P
