Changed Member Category and now gone

For the Members Categories [which I created a Category for] originally, I had it as parent 'none', then when I changed the parent to Members Categoy, it disappeared from the Gallery AdminCP.

When I go to the Gallery it is still listed, but can't be seen in the Admin ... Help

then ... there is meant to be an image next to the members category which isn't displayed, how do I get rid of that, please?

Thanks

Re: Changed Member Category and now gone

You can't parent a category to itself like that... There should be a check for that, but apparenlty it's not working correctly. Try running this query through your admin cp:

UPDATE adv_gallery_categories SET parent = 0 WHERE catid = 3

After that you should be able to edit it through the admin cp again.

Re: Changed Member Category and now gone

If you don't have phpMyAdmin you can do it through the vB admin cp.

Admin CP => Import & Maintenance => Execute SQL Query

If going there gives you a not authorized error then you'll need to open your config.php file and look in there for a variable called $canrunqueries (something like that anyways) and add your userid to that.

In phpMyAdmin, just select the database that you use for your forums in the left frame, then in the right frame click on the 'SQL' link at the top of the page, paste the query above in the box provided there, and click the submit button.

Re: Changed Member Category and now gone

excellent ... my first query handled successfully and things back to normal

thanks

if I may, I asked this in another thread

How do I recitfiy the spacing seen below which is seen when looking at the Members Category

_ __ __ __ __ __ ____Members Categories
This is an example on how to set up a member's category where other user's may create and manage their own categories.

the lines indicate a space .. no lines show up in the example

there are sub-categories there ... in ie it displays a red cross in Firefox just the space

any help appreciated

Thank you
