| LOST! Please Help
Hi everyone,
I just had vBadvanced Gallery RC 4 installed on my site today and when I attempt to upload any images at all, I receive the following error:
"An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster"
Does anyone know what this might mean? I really want this available to my users ASAP, but unfortunately I cannot seem to pinpoint what is wrong.
Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided!
Best Regards,
Prod

Make sure that the folder files is writeable by the webserver.
If your host is running PHP in Safe Mode you will have to turn on Safe Mode Bypass in vBa Gallery.
(Or turn Safe Mode off if this is possible)
Did you save the settings after the initial installation?

CHMOD the files folder to 777 and your issue will go away.

If chmoding the folder does not work, can you post what you have for your 'Files Path' option?

I am not sure how to check for safe mode, nor do I know how to CHMOD files unfortunately. Can someone provide some additional detail as to how I would do this? I would be glad to try that, then post the results here.

To find out if PHP is running in Safe Mod go to you ACP, section Import & Maintenance and click Show PHP Info.
If you have shell (SSH/Telnet) access:
chmod 777 files
Otherwise you must do this with your FTP-Client, but as I don't know which software you do use I can't tell exactly how to do this.

Hi everyone,
First off, thank you for all of your helpful posts. I do appreciate it! My friend that assisted me with the installation resolved the issue this morning. Here is what he did:
"I have fixed this. It looked to be an issue with the $filespath variable. I did a lookup using adminCP for the SERVER_PATH, then used that value... reuploaded the file (which incidentally is what I did last night) and hey presto!!"
Thanks again to everyone for your quick responses!
Prod
