Quick Reply I have checked, and double checked the usergroup permissions, and members can not use the quick reply box. The quick reply box appears, but it will not accept the cursor. Members can click on advanced icon and have no problem with replying. Thanks in advance. |
Re: Quick Reply Do you have your forum set to force them to click the QuickReply icon on a post before the QuickReply block becomes active? If so, that setting may be interfering with it in the Gallery.... |
Re: Quick Reply Sounds like a problem with it including some of the JS, but it's hard to tell without being able to see everything. Would you mind submitting a support ticket so I can have a look? |
Re: Quick Reply Brian, I sent you a private message and have not received an acknowledgement. I would like to request a refund thank you. |
Re: Quick Reply Sorry, but we cannot issue a refund once you have already downloaded and installed the script. I've registered an account on your site and the quick reply box is working fine with the standard editor. Apparently since the account is not approved though I cannot change my options to test things with the WYSIWYG editor. |
Re: Quick Reply I guess due to the fact I have reservations towards giving blanket access to my server, I do not deserve support. I did purchase buyer protection from ebay. I have little choice now but to use what I paid for. I apologize in advance for any inconvience I may have caused. While searching vBulletin for a possible solution I did find this link. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ghlight=editor I'd like to thank you again for the great job you've done developing both cmps and the gallery. I'm just sorry the support was so lacking. I have uninstalled the gallery software, you have my assurance I will distroy the Gallery program I downloaded. Thank you again. |
Re: Quick Reply You stop using a product just because you don't want to give the developer access to your site to check out the issue, nor do you even continue to try to troubleshoot the problem here on the public support forums. You're a class act. |
Re: Quick Reply Well not providing info such as that does certainly make things more difficult, especially when nobody else has ever reported a problem such as this. That still doesn't mean that I was not looking into the issue though. I registered an account on your site yesterday to try and see what I could determine the problem from looking at the HTML and such, but you did not approve the account until late last night. Since you do not allow users awaiting approval to change their options in their user cp, I have had no way to even view the problem until today. I have been away for a good part of the day, but was about to start looking into your issue after I got done checking the support forums here. From your post though, I assume there's no reason to follow up on the issue now. |
Re: Quick Reply I've tried to resolve the issue publicly. Brian has had access to the gallery since last night, just as he requested. I've also tried to discuss this issue with Brian privately, he has yet to respond to the private message I sent on 4/17 addressing my concern in providing access to my server along with my apologe. I would much rather discuss these issues privately, I'm left with little choice should the developer deny my private attempts. Again, I apologize. |

Before asking for support Please read the F.A.Q below! If you have any problems or questions that are not covered in the F.A.Q. please post them at vbadvanced.com in the appropriate forum. We will be more than happy to help in any way we can if the request for help is made there. Anyone trying to contact a staff member via e-mail, private message, or any other means will be ignored. |
Re: Quick Reply Clearchannel: What is the ticket number that you submitted yesterday? I'm not seeing any recent support tickets submitted under your user name. |
Re: Quick Reply Quote:
I have researched this problem further, and have come to discover the problem does not lie within the Gallery program. It actually lies within the cmps program. After uninstalling the cmps, the quick reply works for all usergroups. |
Re: Quick Reply Did you have the CMPS integrated with your gallery pages? If so, that may be a known bug with the CMPS which requires a simple fix. |
Re: Quick Reply I am not sure what you are asking? If your mean have I installed any modifications to intergrate the gallery with the cmps the answer would be no. I do have the CMPS installed along with the Gallery. |
Re: Quick Reply Quote:
So.... as you can see by submitting problems via a Support Ticket instead of PM your server information is not only more secure but tickets are also responded to faster and by more people. :) Now having said all that... if somebody does insist upon using a PM then they have to understand that their PM may not even be read right away and even if/when it does the problems submitted by customers via a Support Ticket take priority over it. The current problem you're having now may have been resolved quickly if somebody was able to take a look, instead it's being dragged out over several days and the problem still isn't fixed. Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
Re: Quick Reply If you didn't integrate the CMPS with the gallery then there is no way it would be causing a problem with the gallery. They're two totally separate scripts and one would not affect the other. Kevin - His point was that he doesn't want to give out server infomation in any form. Understandable, but can still make providing support more difficult when it's a unique problem that nobody else has ever had a problem with before. |
Re: Quick Reply Quote:
I researched a little futher, thinking the wysiwyg editor's problem may exist in the forum software itself, I discovered a thread at vBulletin where a member claims his wysiwyg editor is not working, he goes on to state "I use the vBadvanced system", vBulletin instructs the member to seek support at the vBAdvanced site. You can read the post here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ghlight=editor read post #7 and 8. I then uninstall the Gallery and CMPS, to discover the WYSIWYG editor now works for all usergroups, with no problems. I was looking at the Gallery program as causing this error, when it is, most likely, the CMPS program. |
Re: Quick Reply I am no expert here, but quite frankly, I dont see how the CMPS could interfere with the wysiwyg editor. I use both CMPS & the Gallery and have absolutely no issues that you are experiencing. |
Re: Quick Reply I am having a problem with the WYSIWYG on your site using FireFox, but IE is not giving me any problems. The WYSIWYG is working fine once you go to the normal reply page as well, so that's even weirder. And I still don't see how the CMPS would affect anything with the WYSIWYG as you do not touch any files associated with that when installing the CMPS, nor have any of the thousands of users that use this script ever reported a problem like this until now. The thread on vb.com that you posted has nothing to do with the issue you're having either... They're talking about problems with the WYSIWYG editor not formatting text properly, while your problem is that you cannot even type in the WYSIWYG editor. The only thing I can suggest is to revert your 'SHOWTHREAD' and 'showthread_quickreply' templates if you have modified them, and to try uploading all of the files in your /forum/clientscript folder in binary mode to see if that helps. If neither of those helps at all then I don't think I'm going to be able to find the problem without having access to things. |
