Very Frustrating Permissons problems

Hey all, brought your gallery, it seems great but I can't even get it set up correctly because of permissions difficulties!

I set all usergroups to deny-all, then only let the admin (me) view and post.

That works.

Next I tell the admin to upload pics in the members section, that works, but suddenly it can upload everywhere!

That is ridiculous, especially since I never had those sorts of problems with the forum permissions.

The sooner you could get back to me on this the better.

------------

Minor problem, I managed to make a forum that you can only view if you are a member of the porn viewing secondary group, that's fine, however I can't stop those catergories pics showing up to all users for 'most recent uploads' and 'random 3 images'. I had to turn those features off in the end which was a pity.

Any ideas there?

I'm not sure why you would be having a problem if you have your permissions set correctly. If you'd like to submit a support ticket though I'll be glad to take a look.

Permissions are working pretty good. 99% you messed up something.

Re: Very Frustrating Permissons problems

Submitted the ticket. Just to continue, what I want ultimately is

* no guests or banned/locked members to view anything
* Registered users can view and post but not upload
* Mods/admins etc can upload in 'The Wordforge Gallery' catergory but no one else
* Regular users can upload in 'Members Galleries' and post
* 'Naughty' users can view post and upload in the 'Not Suitable For Work' catergory, ideally only if they are regular users too, but that's not essential. Non-naughty users cannot view this catergory

Yeah, so the problem is when I customise just one usergroup/forum combination, it makes the change across all forums!

Re: Very Frustrating Permissons problems

It looks like you didnt open the categories currectly. If you set the categories correctly and set the permissions to each categorie one by one you will face no problem. It is pretty easy to do what you are asking.

I know!

I've tried all sorts of methods, setting groups to post, denying and then customising to post, post everywhere except, in each case the usegroups refuse to act differently per catergory!

I replied to your ticket a few hours ago... From what I saw it was behaving exactly as it should according to the way you have your permissions set...

Re: Very Frustrating Permissons problems

Would you believe it, most of the problems I thought I was having, I wasn't!

I thought the 'upload' button was catergory dependent, thus when I went to a catergory where I couldn't upload, it would go to the upload screen anyhow, I thought things were messed up!

Will continue the lesser issues I have in the support ticket
