For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. I found something very interesting last night after upgrading. I would try and upload, and I got the error about not being able to create the directory. So I checked my permissions , and checked, and checked, and rechecked. they were 777 per my ftp client. So, I created a new albums folder, changed my setting to point to the new folder, and tried again - BINGO !!!! It worked just fine. After ssh into the server, I saw my problem - While my ftp was showing the albums folders to be 777, and they were, all my folders and files within the albums directory were owned by me. But on the new folder that worked, everything created within the new albums directory was own by the apache server user. I had to chown -R everything within that albums directory to the apache user my server runs as, and all my problems went away. :) |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. Just an FYI, I don't think most FTP programs will show you the permissions that are set. Did you by chance move servers recently? There shouldn't be any reason that would be changed after the upgrade... |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. I use WS_FTP Pro from Ipswich. It will show the props of a file, but not ownership. But yes, I did make some changes, using ftp to move some folders around. So I know it was on my end, not the gallery that caused the problem. I still havent been able to enable stats however. It causes an error on the index page. I think that might be something to do with php 4.3.10 and zend. |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. What was the error? |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. Fatal error: Cannot increment/decrement overloaded objects nor string offsets in /home/parrotcrazy/public_html/gallery/index.php on line 76 here - http://www.parrotcrazy.com/gallery/ But if you go here - everything works fine. http://www.parrotcrazy.com/gallery/b...ages.php?c=502 And that is with stats on |

Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. If you moved servers manually rather than having your host move things for you then you will need to chmod you /gallery/files, each sub-folder, and every sub-folder below those to 777. |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. Thanks for the reply, I've just checked all the subfolders and they're all set to 777 (btw the host did the move) |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. Did you change the path settings after the move? Those will most likely be different since you are with a new host now. |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. they weren't changed...just changed servers with the same hosts (went from shared to dedicated)...but I checked the paths to be sure and they are set right... |
Re: For all those having problems uploading after upgrade. I'm not sure what would be causing that then. If you'd like to submit a support ticket though I'll be glad to take a look. |
