Category field appears below images, sometimes

I don't think this is by design?

There is a field named "Category:" above Description:" with each image. This field does not appear most of the time. It depends on how you view any image. Here are two examples of the same image. One where the field appears and one where it does not.

If you edit any image and continue browsing the gallery, or link to images with shortened URLs, the Category field does appear if URL ends as shown. Example Here
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Most visitors do not see this field as when just browsing the Gallery, the Category field does not appear if URL ends as shown. Example Here
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

Re: Category field appears below images, sometimes

That's done by design. If you view an image through the What's New, What's Popular, Favorites, and etc, then the breadcrumbs at the top will show that you're in that section rather than the category you're in. The categories are shown with the image in these cases so the user can easily see exactly where the image is.
