images disappeared!

I just started uploading images about 15 minutes ago.. and they have all disappeared! Everything works fine there's just no thumbnails or large pics either unless you click on the files link..

Sounds like your URLs & paths may be off. In your ACP (ACP --> vBa Gallery --> Modify Settings) what values do you have entered Gallery URL and Files URL?

maybe I'll try reinstalling.. the problem seems odd to pop up after everything was working right.

edit:that didn't change anything so I changed 1 setting and all the problems were gone. GD: selected 1.0

My server must have some sort of restrictions on gd, cause I know it's 2.somethin

I had my subscribers images all disappear, but it was because I was messing with the Category Editor. I set my main Subscriber Category to "Act as Members' Category" and all their photos went away!

Fortunately, I back tracked and got things back to "normal."

I never did get my head clear about the logic of "Act as Category." If you click NO it is a title I guess, because if you click YES, you can upload photos to it. So, I have the master "title" and then all my user "categories" (folders) are below that title.

The logic of the new Act as Category tag is explained as: "When set to 'Yes', any uploads to this category will automatically be placed in a sub-category named after the user who uploaded the file."

I'm still CONFUSED! When is a category NOT a category?

anyway, my problem was fixed by switching the board into GD1.0 mode

now I gotta fix my PM link in the gallery, but I believe it's a problem due to a mod I installed elsewhere, not the gallery's problem.
