| Various Issues
I would like to be able to have users only be able to upload photos to one category, their "username" category.
However, if you setup the permission on the categories so that they can only create categories in one category, they can never click an "upload" button.
You have to allow them to create images in a category say, "member categories" or they wont ever be able to upload photos in their category...
So, this is going to lead to alot of confusin on the users part and alot of photos in a general category.
Also, there is no way that I can see for a user to delete their own category.
Also, imagemagick wont watermark my images, GD works fine (but obviously has gif limitations) -- but IM does not.

I would expect that to have been a 'feature' added in from the get go... seems pretty basic to me. The product needs to be usable by people who are not computer experts, and 90% of the users are not going to be able to figure out that behaviour.
Anyway....
My suggestion would be to be able to turn off "making" folders for all registered users, and allowing a user to upload pics, and have a folder automatically created with his username upon the first picture upload.
That mode, would be very simple from a user standpoint.
Would that be possible?

Brian has a big list of things that he's trying to get into RC3 but he hasn't formally announced yet what new features & changes are commited so things are liable to change. I know there's been a bunch of "that'll be in RC3" type threads but I'd hate to see people make plans around what may or may not be RC3 only to be upset later on if something does change.

Well, he did say that the username categories, and user's ability to delete their created categories were definately going to be in there, so that's what I was referring to. |

It's always better to have people happy because something was included rather than being mad because something wasn't.
