[RC2] creating category with apostrophe cause mysql error

i was creating a sub-category from a main category, and got a mysql error.
It still created the category, but i wasn't aware at teh time, went back, removed the apostrophe, and created it again.
Then i saw two copies of the sub-cat, one with and one without the apostrophe.
i ended up deleting the apostrophe version, just because it probably had problems involved as it didn't get though the whole mysql INSERT.

example: Jim's Photos.

i am too scared to create it anotehr one atm, to show you error log.

Re: [RC2] creating category with apostrophe cause mysql error

*bump*

This has happened again, with anotehr admin adding a category. i end up deleting it and remaking it, because if it's giving an error [and also might be stopping the INSERT] it may stuff up all the table field INSERTs after the description...
Brian, please check there is some sort of stripslashes for the add category on the admincp page. If not, please give me some help with how to fix this bug.

What version are you running? And you're adding it through the admin side, right? Just tried on here and didn't have any problems...

Strange... Would you mind submitting a support ticket so I can have a look?

Re: [RC2] creating category with apostrophe cause mysql error

this problem is still occuring....

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.3:

mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's House', 'photos/browseimages.php?c=117', '1107921663', 2)

mysql error number: 1064

>>> i can send a support ticket in if you would like to have a look Brian. i think it's something as simple as adding 'addslashes' to the gallery_admin.php code, no?

Re: [RC2] creating category with apostrophe cause mysql error

That wouldn't have anything to do with the gallery. 'updates' isn't a default vB or vBa table, so the problem would be coming from whatever hack you've installed that uses this table.
