Unable to Upload to Gallery

Myself and my Mate. Spent 5 hours setting up the gallery last night. Got it working eventually thank goodness.
Went to upload some images into it and got this message.

"An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster"

Any ideas???

Could be a couple of things.

Did you make sure your ../gallery/files folder was chmod to 777 and did you check your URL settings in the ACP?

Did all that, I've got the gallery forum permissions set for admin access only. Would that have any effect??

What do you mean by "gallery forum permssions" -- do you mean the gallery categories?

In the admin CP. I have set the Forum Permissions for Vba Gallery to Administrator only (I have denied access to all other groups)

ACP is just short for "Administrator Control Panel". Sounds like you've already checked your URL's though.

Weird it is unable to setup a folder.
1:/ I click Upload,
2:/Browse for File.
3:/Choose location.
4:/ClickSubmit and then get that error.

Is there another way that may work??

I was having the same problem the other night on a windows box. It was the URL in the ACP.

Are you sure that the value of "Files Path" in the "Uploading Options" section of the Gallery settings is correct?

for the lot of that section "Uploading Options" it appears as /gallery/files

It should be the full path.

Under the "Import & Maintenance" section of the ACP, do you see a "View PHP Info" option? If so, what is the value of the "_SERVER["PATH_TRANSLATED"]" field?

FUll path as in http://www.yoursite.com/gallery/files

That'd be your URL, not the path. Does that PHPINFO option appear for you?

I see the server path translated.

/myhost/local/home/myserver/mysite.com/forum/admincp/index.php
will I copy that in there in all sections in the options?

Assuming that Gallery is in your root directory try...

Will do. Prog is working but the pics aren't appearing when uploaded.

I'll let my mate fight with that one. I've work in the morning.

If you're getting a red X, then most likely the URL is set wrong.
