rebuild deleted files

i uploaded some images, before i had put the watermark feature on my site. after i had the watermark feature on and working, i tried rebuilding a sub-cat's normal images, and they didn't come up with the watermarks.
so i went and deleted the images through FTP only (left their details in the database) so i could rebuild the normal images again.

However, it still is only picking up random ones, and not rebuilding them. my originals are in the same folder, and still there (like my _thumbs). however normal photos aren't being remade....
What do i do?

There's not currenlty an option to watermark un-watermarked images. There will be one in RC3, along with an option to watermark images on the fly rather than permanently.

i'm not sure if you understood my question properly... i am now left with the imagefile.jpg missing from the folder, so the category is showing them as blank. when you try to rebuild normal images, it doesn't bring them back - they are still missing....
