Missing folders in download.

In step 3 of the installation guide it says...

Quote:
Now you will need to chmod the /gallery/files folder to 777:
Well whoopdee doo, i dont have that folder, sure i could create it but is there supposed to be anything in it before hand ?

Also, in this post...

http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/show...99&postcount=5

...you say...

Quote:
/gallery/
/gallery/files/
/gallery/images/
/gallery/users
/gallery/index.php
/gallery/browseimages.php
... etc

That's about what it should look like.
...but i dont have all those folders, are they just empty folders i should create myself, or are there supposed to be something in them

And what's up with the....

Quote:
... etc
Are there even more missing folders ? (files ?)

The installation guide doesnt say anything about all this, all i have in my Gallery folder after downloading from here is...

Gallery/
Gallery/images/
and the gallery root files

not all those folders and "... etc" you mentioned above.

In the above quote about how it should look like, is the gallery/users like "gallery/users" or "gallery/users/"

Please post exactly how it should be, i mean exactly, just edited everything and ready to run the install script but now i have to wait for reply to this thread

Re: Missing folders in download.

The folder/file structure in the zip package should have looked like this:

extras
-- file_cd.psd
-- file_image.psd
-- file_media.psd
forum
-- admincp
---- vba_gallery_admin.php
---- vbagallery_install.php
-- includes
----cron
------ gallery_ecard.php
------ gallery_search.php
------ gallery_subscriptions.php
---- adminfunctions_gallery.php
---- functions_gallery.php
---- functions_gallery_imageedit.php
-- modcp
---- vba_gallery.php
gallery
-- files
-- images
---- Should have about 20 images in this folder
-- users
-- browseimages.php
-- ecard.php
-- editimage.php
-- gallery_config.php.new
-- gallery_global.php
-- index.php
-- managecats.php
-- misc.php
-- newreply.php
-- search.php
-- showimage.php
-- upload.php

If you're missing any of those files then you need to download the package again.

Re: Missing folders in download.

I just downloaded it too, and those folders aren't in the ZIP.

Just create them and change the permissions... Should be fine.

Yes, i just looked through the list above and saw the 2 missing folders (files and users) doesnt have any files in them, so i just created them, working fine.

@brian, you might wanna doublecheck for those folders, to avoid any confusion.

Re: Missing folders in download.

I receintly made some changes to the zip functions here to try and solve the problem with Mac users and apparently those changes were causing it to skip those two folders. Should be fixed now though.
