Blank forum index

I did the install step by step following the instructions. All went smooth. Saw the gallery, added categories, etc... Then i noticed my main forum page would display nothing but a blank page (/forums/index.php) and same thing with my portal.php (vbindex). After checking and re-checking my mods on the files, i uninstalled it, removed all references to the vbgallery as well as all the mods i did on the files and removed the directory as well. Forum still broken. What kind of changes does the install script make to the database that would cause this. cause all the forum files are back to the orignal right now and it is still not working

fyi...if i directly link to a subpage (forum/usercp.php) it will load up, but if i use quicklink to go to the main page its still displays blank.

Do you have a link to your forums so we can see what's going on firsthand?

If you go directly to http://www.hempsteadturnpike.com/forum/usercp.php you will see the page will work, just not the index for some reason.

It seems that both forum/index.php and forum/portal.php come up blank. I know that's not much help but how are they connected? Is portal.php the vBa_cmps page?

I don't know of anything the Gallery install does that would cause that.. And you did run the Uninstall for Gallery, right?

yes, i did the uninstall and then removed all the lines of code that i added to the various files in the readme. Just to rule out some variables, i'm not new at this and yes i checked, checked, and checked again

no, the portal page is vbindex. I only was installing vbadvanced gallery (not the cmps stuff)

There's no way the gallery installation would cause your forum pages to come up blank, unless you did something weird with the install. I'd recommend getting fresh, un-hacked versions of the files you modified, upload them, then try again.
