| Images showing up solid black
I am having a problem with images displaying as sold black when people post them. If they post it as an attachment in the forums, it works fine.
The only way I have found around this is to copy the image and paste it into photoshop and then save it as the same filename and overwrite the normal file and the thumbnail file on the server.
Is anyone else having this problem? :\

Is it doing this to all images, or just some? Can you post a link to a specific image that it's done this to?

I don't have one that's in there yet because I've fixed all of them so far, but I'm gonna get somebody to post one to show you.

I have the same problem. Usig GD 2.x
It *appears* that this happened to pics imported from Coppermine using the import script.

Well, I think it happens to just certain pictures anyway... I don't think it has anything to do with the importing because I never used Coppermine.
It would be nice to not have to PM each member that submits a black photo and get them to send you the picture in PM or email and then repost it for them after resaving the pic(s) |

Although the image I sent you was black and white, it does the same thing to some full color images.
Like I said... if the image is copied into photoshop (one of my gallery mods said that it works in MS Paint too) and then saved again, it works fine.

I am having this same problem. The images are solid black and they are watermarked (transparent watermark). this happens about one out of 15 times.

GD will generate all black thumbnails in some cases, depending on the bit-depth of the image, it seems. Switch to IM and you should be fine.

Are there any negatives to IM? I seem to remember some problems with transparent watermarks.
