File not uploading

I tried to upload a 300-400K, 4megabit file (much larger than size limit) to test the system, and after 10-15 seconds it just went to a blank screen with /gallery/upgrade.php as the URL. It seems to just timed out and sat there. Is it not supposed to automatically resize the files to fit?

Re: File not uploading

By default PHP usually has an upload limit of 2mb. You can try asking your host to change that limit (though there's a good chance they won't), or you can probably upload the image through the FTP options.

Re: File not uploading

I just tried uploading a 800K that's over my size limits of 800x800, but less than the 2meg limit, and it did the same thing. Blank upload.php screen. What's the problem? I run Gallery (from menalto) on the same server and I can upload 3-4 megabyte 8 megapixel images without issue.

Re: File not uploading

I'm interested in this as well. I have a file server that I did a practice install on and I keep my backup copy of my forum on and everything went fine without doing a pp import so I did the install on my forum server and I get the same thing. Everytime I attempt an upload I get the gallery/upload.php screen that is blank and explorer says done at the bottom. However it is not uploading any files to the server but it did make an html file and folder for user number 1.

Re: File not uploading

I tried my test account on my main server and it also creates a new file for that user in the files folder and creates an html doc but does not upload the image. The only difference I can find between my two servers is the php version. My main server is a little older and I run 4.2.2 while my file server was built about six months ago and runs 4.3.2 so I don't know if this could make the difference with one working and one not.

Re: File not uploading

I can add now that even if I place the image in the ftp folder and select the ftp option I still get the blank screen for the gallery/upload.php and the image does not appear.

Thanks in advance

Re: File not uploading

Same here. A question to all, Are the pictures you are trying to upload contain the EXIF data of the cam? It seems I can upload pics without this info, however it is when I try the pics with the EXIf info that I run into the blank screen.

For me the EXIF data does not matter. I think we may have more then one problem. Since I have one machine working fine and one that will not upload or except files that are already uploaded I'm not sure yet what the problem is. Like I say the only difference I have been able to track down so far is the different php versions that the machines have but I am going to uninstall and reinstall one more time to make sure using the same files that I did for the first install on the backup server.

Re: File not uploading

Well, it turns out that I have been uploading pics with Exif all along however it is not displaying the EXIF info. So I can rule that out with the blank screen. By the way I am running PHP version 4.3.8

Re: File not uploading

If someone having problems would like to submit a support ticket I'll be glad to take a look and see why it's having problems uploading some images.
