| Users cant create category
Having a hard time trying to enable users creating categories. In the drop down box, all options are in bold and wont allow selection.
In the admin panel, each category is set to allow users to creat sub categories so whats up?
Thanks

Actually... it looks like no one can even upload images as they cant pick a category in which to place them!
BTW: the adv_gallery_permissions is totally empty. Not even a record. Is this right? (was just wondering if that was the problem)

Thats odd, works just fine here. Can you provide in more detail what steps you took to enable?

yes, me again.
I figured out that the gallery persmissions table was for custom persmissions.
However the odd thing is this:
if I take a user group, change to 'custom persmissions' but leave all options to the deafult, the category isnt even visible in pull down boxes (upload/category admin) even though I can browse it. Turn it back to default permissions (same ones though) and it appears... but in bold (like all other options) and you cant choose it.
Thanks!

Use the custom radial setting and adjust the settings so users can creat a category/subcategories if that is what you want.? Did I miss something?
Also when did you download the zipfile for the gallery?

I dont mean to sound daft... but what custom radial setting?
If I edit the usergroup settings... Each is set to Create Categories: Yes, #of categories? 0 (for no limit)
Each category is set to allow users to create sub categories? Yup
downloaded last night

Go to CATEGORY SETTINGS > REGISTERED USERS and make sure you check in there that they can create categories and whatever else you want for them and at the top click on the CUSTOM SETTING radial settings. Radial is just the click and the dot goes in the field. Just in case ;D

Im not sure what you mean by category settings->registered users
Here is what I have done:
Usergroup Permissions->Registered :: Can create categories? Yes :: Maximu # of categories? 0
Edit Category (each one):: Allow users to create sub categories? Yes

yea... that sussed it. I must have started typing before you submitted those. Feel a bit of a heel once I submitted the post and Brian had already posted the solution.
Cheers
