Creating a Gallery Tab

I am trying to create a navigation tab for vBGallery. I have gotten it to work so that when clicking on the links inside the gallery tab it keeps the tab highlighted and stays on that tab. I have succeeded with the exception of the amount of links I can add to the gallery tab and keep it highlighted on the gallery tab. What is keeping me from adding more links and have the tab work properly is the limited amount of characters allowed in VB’s Navigation Manager’s Tab Script(s). It only allows 30 characters.

With this said I am asking for some help. If you click on the help option for Tab Script(s) inside the Navigation Manager you get one of the following statements that I have attached below.

Quote:
If you are writing a product that uses many different scripts, you should set your own constant in them, and use the 'set_navigation_tab' hook to detect this constant and set your selected tab.
Does anyone know how to make this work so that I can have more than two links in the tab I am creating and have it work correctly?

Have you not simply tried going to your vbulletin product mananger and tried uploading the product_vbgallery42.xml file to the vbulletin so that the proper navigation exists.

We have all the proper navigation for the vbGallery product in the updated xml file.

Not too sure here what your asking I guess your not using the updated navigation?

Is this something that is only available with PhotoPost vBGallery v3.02?
I am currently running PhotoPost vBGallery v3.01 and do not see this.

That is correct 3.02 does indeed add the navigation manager menu.

Thank you. I have not had the chance to upgrade to v3.02 yet. I want to do it when I can put my full attention on it in case I run into issues. I will do it soon though. Thanks Chuck and i will keep you posted.

Okay well let me know if you have any questions. The only thing you have to do is download the build and just import the xml file from the product manager selecting overwrite thats all there is to it. The only change is addition of the navigation menu to support the 4.2 navigation system.

O, so I can leave 3.01 installed and just import the plugin without uploading all the files?

yes that is the only change as noted in the announcement we issued a small dot release to support the new navigation system as that was all that was introduced by vb with 4.2
