Flash and/or videos in my gallery?
 

What I'm trying to do is embed videos or flash videos in my gallery. I did try the mod from 2007 that's supposed to be able to do this but all it does is provide a link to the file rather then actually embedding and playing it.

I don't really mind if it gets a little tricky (like if thumbnails would mess up or something because it doesn't seem to change it by default either). Since I'd be the only person allowed to upload videos.


What would also be acceptable is for me would be to have the ability to turn gallery categories into links (like you're able to do with vbulletin categories).
And then to have it simply forward to a vbulletin category where i'd create threads and embed them there.

But the issue is of course that I don't want people that have like /gallery bookmarked or something and never even go to the main page, to be unaware of these videos.


Any suggestions are welcome.

Well I can not really speak on some modification to the code. vbGallery does not embed videos. As far as who sees what you would control that under the category permissions in vbGallery admin.

Mkay, and I suppose there's no way to turn categories into links either? :/

Categories as links is a vb forum feature. In vbGallery a category is a category of images one views. You can not link to somewhere else outside vbGallery as the category link as that has to be to the actual category that contains the images.
