You have 3 kinds of images:
thumbnail, normal image and original image.
  • thumbnail is controlled by thumbnail size.. ACP->Vbgallery->Settings default is 100
  • normal image is controlled by ACP->Vbgallery->Image types
there you can set max width and max height.. ATTENTION, these 2 values should be the same.. good values are from 400 to 600
  • Original image here you have a difference between vbgallery 2.5x and 3.0
In both you have to set ACP->Vbgallery->Settings Keep original to YES
Additionally in vbgallery 3.0 you can resize original if you input a size.. (good value is 1024)

For all of these settings,
they only work for NEW uploads AFTER you changed them... if you want to apply them for old existing images, you have to regenerate them in 2 passes, in ACP->Vbgallery->Maintenance
Rebuild Thumbnail and Rebuild normal images (in vbgallery 3 you can also rebuild originals - this new option will only work if your new resize original is smaller than the old one)

Try to see the setting in the control panel search for "File types"
then edit what kind of files you want and the size of it
try 700 X 700 for the hight and width
try 2097152 for the size

This meens that if image is bigger than 700x700 pixel it will be resized.
BUT if it for example 600x600 pixel and more than 2 Megabytes, it will also be resized.

it will not change immediately, it will only at next upload.
If you want to change the images that are allready uploaded,
go to controlpanel section maintenance.
there select rebuild image sizes
normal images
all existing images will be resized.
