| Query
I would like to edit the default main page query to show all the member categories. When members upload to my site and just use the default - create the member category automatically - the member is not displayed on the main page. I uderstand that is becuse the image are not really added to their own category - but tagged for the use.
But if you go to the sites member categories, all show up, this includes the automatically created categories as well as the manual ones. Can the query for the member categories be used on the main page query?
Would the edited query allow the manually created sections show up as well as the automatic ones?
I hate that I have many user categories that my guests never see unless they click the 'Member Categories' link...
If I confused you - sorry... I think I confused my self! |

I have no problem editing the PHP files as needed.

the index and the members script are two different scripts so not really something you can just change a query and expect to work. I would suspect you would need to recode alot of the core code in the index to make things work like you want.

Ahh - understand, it's not really the query that is the problem but the script that populates the results.
Has there been any thoughts about doing this or am I the only one who has asked?

Well there is alot more to a script than just one query.
You define scripts and templates to perform a specific purpose. The index scripts purpose is to display your categories. It is not to display contents of categories.
You are the only one I can see that has every asked about having members galleries on the actual index.

No problem, the only reason I asked is that if you go to the main gallery page - it looks like only a few have uploaded images (the ones who actually made a gallery category), yet if you click on the Member Gallery link there are actually many more. I would like to make my, the member galleries, have the same level of exposure. Jeep-CJ Gallery |

Well yes but thats not going to get you what you want. I am merely pointing out you have no categories. Members galleries is a default category.
