| EXIF not showing
I have "show EXIF" set to Yes in the control panel.
I upload the same exact photo to Flickr and to vBGallery - Flickr shows the EXIF, so I know this photo has EXIF embedded. vBGallery isn't showing it.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Look in your forum maintenance menu phpinfo. It should have exif info if its installed.

If I may add, i just checked the exif funtionallity a couple of weeks ago...
It works, but it depends much on the php version.
I tested 10 images, from 10 different different cameras
1 Ricoh model did not work at all, and 2 Olympus models show different exif information if you are under PHP 5.1 and 5.3 (i did not test php 5.2)
I think I read somewhere that flickr does not use the basic php modules to read exif (and other file information) they have proprietary executables that do the work on cascaded servers. So it is Normal that flickr does not give the same results as the standard php modules do. And I also read that php has problems with the header of jpg coming from some Nokia symbian phones. As It is a known issue, possible that flickr adapted their software, and that php did not.

Correct if your using PHP functions your limited by those functions and what they support. For years the exif functionality in PHP was always considered buggy at best. Thats the main reason for example Photopost Pro our flagship product does not use php's exif in any manner. We use jhead which is a standalone server module one installs. Flickr might do something similar.

And there is another possibility...
@Asabet
Are you positive it is the same original you uploaded to flickr?
Example: if you upload an image to vbulletin albums, it runs through the image pocessor (gd2 or imagemagic) if you then, reupload that image.. the exif info is gone...

Thanks to both of you for your kind assistance and detailed explanations. Quote:

I may go ahead and try Photopost Pro, though I am intimidated by the installation instructions for that software.

The installation instructions are not any harder than vbgallery I think
Upload files set permissions and run the install script.

Thanks,
