How to show VBulletin variables in Photopost template

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the template creating thing, so I'm hoping this is the good place to ask.

I'm using my vbgallery script as an extension of my userprofile.
To make users more comfortable with the idea they are on a user there gallery (instead of another part of the website) I've made the following:

A user info block that is available on the user profile page, and on the VBGallery page.

Example user profile: DoodSaai - Bekijk profiel: svenlohuis
Example user gallery: - DoodSaai Gallery

As you can see, I'm missing a lot of variables in the gallery :-). I placed the profile block in adv_gallery_navbar. Now is my question, how do I make this variables available in VBGallery?

List of (some) used variables:
$vbphrase[current_activity]
$prepared[action] $prepared[where]
$vbphrase[last_activity]
$prepared[lastactivitydate]
$vbphrase[join_date]
$prepared[joindate]
$vbphrase[total_posts]
$prepared[posts]
$vbphrase[user_notes]
$prepared[usernotecount]
$vbphrase[edit_user_profile]
$vbphrase[customize_profile]
$usercss_switch_phrase
$prepared[rank]
$prepared[reputationdisplay]
$prepared[field7]
$prepared[field26]
$prepared[field2]
$vbphrase[age]
$prepared[age]
Or is this not possible in this template? Do I need to create a new template? Mod? I also want (if this works in VBGallery) to place it in VB Blog....

Looking forward to an professional advise :-)
Thanks in advantage,
Sven

well I guess the answer really depends on what type of modification your doing.

For example mods made now are usually done through plugins which means you may need to do whatever mod your doing also under the plugin manager product vbgallery and maybe the member_complete hook and then place variables in the member template for vbgallery but then again I really cant answer hack questions since they are totally up to you and how your doing them.

That i why I'm starting this post here

What is your opinion of the best solution? I'm a licensed programmer, so scripting is not a problem. But I'm new to the vbulletin/vbgallery template/hook/hack/plugin thing....

Looking forward to your advise.

well as I said I dont know it all depends where you coded your thing. I beleive my general description of how vb plugins work should assist you. vbulletin has a tutorial on how there plugin system works as thats not our code so I am just generally responding here.

If you did create a plugin then you might want to change its hook location to global_start for vb then it should execute on every page that loads the vb header etc and then you might be able to use those variables in the vbgallery profile template which I think I listed above. its all about finding the proper hook and template.
