adding custom fields to specific categories

I am curious if it is possible to add custom fields to only specific categoreis, and not all categories...

For my situation, I have categories setup by region. IE. east coast, west coast, gulf coast.

I dont want to make sub categories for local areas, but I would like to have a custom field where they would select from a drop down their local area.

So, for the East Coast gallery, there would be a menu that listed Northeast, Mid Atlantic, Southeast, Florida.

I know how to setup custom fields for all galleries, but please let me know if there is a way to associate the fields for specific categories.

Thanks for your help.

I fear to have to disapoint you.. i think that all I know of, are the custom fields gallery-wide.
you would need a custom hack.. in the code where the custom fields are pulled out of db... but you would have to add the categorie ids manually..

It would be as if you would add custom fields "per forum " in vbulletin..

Luc
PS: but maybe i'm wrong and it is easy to implement..

The Photopost Pro gallery has custom fields per category but alas as Luciano points out this is not a feature in vbGallery.

You can search the mod forums but we would not know what is there or not.

can i do an easy upgrade to Pro from VBGallery?
If so, will this work seamlessly with my vbull forum as it does now?

And do I have to purchase a separate license or is their a discount since I already have VBGallery?

This is my forum:

This is my gallery:

Thanks.

If you are able to use Photopost Pro without purchasing another license you will see in your members area links to download that product, You can use either or but not both.

You can not upgrade to Photopost Pro. You must install Pro and import the vbGallery contents to Pro. They are different products but pro integrates with the front end look and feel of vbulletin as shown on many examples on our site.

ok, thanks chuck.

I went to the members area, and it only lists VBgallery to download. This is a little confusing, since the license says that I am entitled to use either VBGallery or Pro, but just not both at the same time?

Can you give me any clarification here? It seems as if my license covers pro as well?

Well this depends where you purchased vbgallery. I know users whom purchased from Brian or at the low $59.00 price are not entitled. Users whom purchased at the higher $99.00 price before we merged licenses are entitled to both.
