Photopost login

I just added a custom style to vbulletin that has moved the Navbar
to the Header template. The Gallery login generates a 404 File not found.
I understand that the problem has something to do with the Navbar
being moved. The question. What files in the Gallery need to be
changed and/or modified to fix the problem. What is the step by step procedure?
Many thanks,
Brian P.

No files need to be changed. In the vbgallery admin under setting at top are the replacements. make sure to move all filenames you have under navbar replacements into the header section that should be all there is to it.

Sorry Chuck but I need a clarification. Specifically where is the "setting" to which you refer. I can find nothing in my vbgallery admin panel that resembles anything in your instructions. I an running v6.1. Thanks in advance.
Brian.

AdminCP => vBGallery => Modify Settings
- Global PhotoPost vBGallery Settings

Navbar Replacements
Here you may enter a list of filenames that should be prefixed with your Forum's URL.

[save]

Take a look @ your links and see if they are correct.

Another Note:
If you have a custom style with the $navbar placed in the $header of the style. Paste your filenames in:

Header Replacements
Here you may enter a list of filenames that may appear in your header that should be prefixed with your Forum's URL.

Oh, so you are referring to menu in the vBulletin admncp?

TIA,

I may be in the right neighborhood, wrong house. I am running PhotoPost Pro and have just installed and upgraded to the lastest vBulletin. I don't have any vBGallery pick in the admincp.

Hello Chuck,

I think you may recall doing this installation for me early last month or July perhaps.

Can you tell me what I need to do to have the PhotoPost login know where its it suppose to go to find the vbulletin login?

As I reported the login works with the default style and you can see it redirect and then come back to the gallery but when the new style is enabled it goes straight to the 404 and doesn't look like it even tries to do the redirect to vB.

This is a problem because people have been using the PhotoPost Gallery screen to log into their accounts and they are use to it working. I really need to solve it ASAP. Thanks in advance for your attention.

Kindest regards,

Brian P

Brian

If your running Photopost Pro and have added a style in vb or so you need to make sure your links are full urls

so how about a link and test login? sorry I do quite a few installs and lots of support every single week so I am not too sure what site your referring to.

Brian P September 17th, 2008 05:58 AM

Thanks for the reply. The link is The British Merchant Navy - Looking for old friends

/gallery
/forum

Thanks, I will PM the access.

Kindest Regards,

Brian P

Oh, it says you don't accept PMs. I think its not a good idea to just put my site access in a public forum. What to do?

Chuck S September 17th, 2008 06:05 AM

There is your issue you have some nice pretty style sporting there with some custom login box on a sidebar. You might need to get that style author to assist you as I would not know where those links are. You can try in the footer but the main idea is to correct the relative link

login.php

to

The British Merchant Navy - Old Friends List - Powered by vBulletin

The custom login is indeed in the footer template. You can take a look at it if you wish I have already created an admin account for you. I am still a little fuzzy about where you are saying the path needs to be changed.

The login forms seem to be almost identical but one is in the navbar (default) template and the other one is in the Footer (the custom style). So I am not sure where you are telling me to change the path.

please advise.

thanks, Brian P

If you made me an admin login you would need to send that to us via the contact link in the header. The filename login.php is what you would change to be full url like posted in my last reply here. You place your forum url in front of the actual filename.

Brian P September 17th, 2008 07:17 AM

"Contact link in the header"

Which one would that be? I checked everything that I have here and see no photopost contact link.

Speaking of links, just to confirm, are you saying I need to change this link that currently works in the default style,

<a href="http://www.merchant-navy.net/gallery/index.php">Gallery</a>

to this link:

<a href="http://www.merchant-navy.net/forum/login.php">Gallery</a>

Hello Chuck,

Another odd thing I should have mentioned is when the new style was installed, your are correct, some path isn't set because the gallery page couldn't find the images for the new style. To solve this, we just copied the images to the gallery image folder. Is there a place in PhotoPost that the forum image folder is suppose to be defined? I think these two issues are related.

Let me know what you think.

thanks, Brian P

Chuck S September 17th, 2008 06:11 PM

Brian

You do not change your gallery link in the navbar to the forum login script you can change that back

what I am saying is that with that custom style in your footer template or somewhere you have a link in some vb template to login.php and that actual link needs to be a full url not a relative url

You might want to get your style guy to help as these changes are all within the forum templates etc not photopost.

Hello Chuck,

You ARE the man!

Thank you.
